Transport

Surrey County Council

Surrey County Council (SCC) provides free home to school transport for children in Surrey who meet their eligibility criteria. The most common criteria is if Salesian is the chosen school on the basis of your religion or belief (not the nearest qualifying school) and it is between two miles, as measured by the shortest walking distance and fifteen miles, measured by the shortest road route or if a student is in receipt of Free School Meals. SCC assess all new Year 7 students and should contact you by the 1st July if you are eligible.

For other children, SCC may be able to offer alternative help, for example, concessionary seats. For students aged 16+, they offer discounted bus and rail travel tickets.

Please refer to the latest guidance from SCC at Under 16 Transport to School.

The school must always refer you to SCC if you have any queries about the free home to school transport. Their number is 0300 200 1004.

Cobham to Salesian School Bus

Following the withdrawal of transport from Cobham to Salesian school in 2014, a group of Cobham parents got together and donated funds to the school to purchase a minibus to transport children from Cobham Parish to and from school each day. Parents drive the bus on a voluntary rota basis and the scheme has been a wonderful success.

Enquiries about the scheme should be directed to the school, please email Mrs Pippa Carr  pcarr@salesian.surrey.sch.uk
