The Student Committee is a group of 12 students in Years 12 and 13 who have been elected by their peers to represent the student body and help to lead the College. In the piece below, Pablo Gonzalez, a student in Year 13, describes the role that he has played in shaping College life:
This year, the Student Committee organised and contributed to a range of activities with the aim of enhancing the College experience for students. As well as assisting at parents’ evening and on open evenings, we have led a number of projects. At the start of the year, we organised a Freshers Fair to bring together both year 13 and new year 12 students. The afternoon involved live music, BBQ and an inflatable gladiator game which led to great competition between the year groups. In December, the Committee visited Salesian House in Battersea to plan and discuss the upcoming year. This involved choosing charities to support and organising events such as RAG Day in support of the Ashalayam orphanage in Calcutta, India. The visit also included an evening in Winter Wonderland where committee members from both years got to know each other better and discuss their ideas for College leadership. We are currently planning the Year 13 Leavers’ Ball and look forward to celebrating in the summer!
