Catering

We are delighted to be partnering with new caterers CULINERA from the Summer Term 2024. Please use this link to go to the Culinera – Salesian micro site which is kept updated for the full menu and tariff, news about Culinera as well as a contact form.

Culinera’s approach is very much focused on fresh food, prepped on site. The School restaurant “The Social Kitchen” provides hot and cold options for all students three times a day at the following times:

Breakfast                             8.00 to 8.30
Morning Break                  10.50 to 11.10
Lunch                                     12.50 to 1.30

To accommodate as many students as possible, we also have three “Express / Little Kitchen” outlets around the school which are open at morning break and lunch, focussing on “grab and go” items.  Year 7 and Year 8 are allocated to one outlet, Year 9 and 10 to another and our Year 11s have access to the Express Kitchen within their own common room.

A typical daily offer across the restaurant and outlets includes:

Breakfast: Free porridge when any topping purchased, bacon/sausage and egg rolls, breakfast wraps, freshly baked pastries, American pancakes and on Thursday’s, a full English breakfast.

Morning Break: Pasta and noodle pots, handcrafted sourdough pizza, wings, loaded skins, nachos, pulled pork bagels, slow cooked beef brisket wraps and freshly baked caked & bakes.

Lunch (Restaurant): Choice of hot meals & desserts of the day based around the high street, pasta and noodle pots, handcrafted sourdough pizza, salad bar, boxed salad & cold pasta pots, baguettes, sandwiches & wraps, soup, filled baked potatoes, and freshly baked cakes & bakes.

Lunch (Outlets): Loaded skins, wedges & nachos, wings and things, pasta and noodle pots, hot wraps, bagels & baguettes, handcrafted sourdough pizza, boxed salads, sandwiches and freshly baked cakes & bakes.

We encourage all students to have a named water bottle and there are refill taps around the school. However a range of drinks are available for purchase at all services including water, fruit juice, fruit cans, flavoured waters and ice and milkshakes.  All drinks are school compliant with controlled sugar and additives.

Culinera can be contacted via email at ss@culinera.co.uk or on 01494 488503.

We run a cashless catering system for all purchases, regardless of eligibility for Free School Meals. With parental consent, students have their finger scanned when they join in year 7 and all purchases are charged to a pre-loaded account.

Parents are responsible for adding money to their child’s account in advance via the online Tucasi system. Please contact the school finance dept at finance@salesian.surrey.sch.uk if you have any issues operating or topping up your child’s Tucasi account.

Successfully applying for free school meals helps parents to save money on school meals and the daily allowance will always enable your child to receive a main item (main meal /hot snack / sandwich / pasta or salad pot etc) and either a pudding (fruit / cake / dessert) or a drink every lunchtime. The daily allowance cannot be used at morning break.

Additionally all schools receive “Pupil Premium” funding which is calculated according to the number of students on roll eligible for free school meals
so we strongly encourage you to apply for your child even if you do not intend for your child to purchase food at school.  You can read how we use
Pupil Premium funding at Salesian here.
